Our Carpet Installation Process

1
Measurement & Selection

Rooms are measured precisely, and we help you select carpet style, fiber, pile height, and padding for your traffic and comfort needs.

2
Old Carpet Removal

Existing carpet and padding are pulled up, staples are removed, and the subfloor is inspected and prepped.

3
Tack Strip & Padding

Tack strips are secured at all walls and appropriate padding is installed and stapled.

4
Carpet Installation

Carpet is cut, seamed where needed, stretched onto tack strips, and trimmed at all walls and transitions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does carpet installation take?
A typical 3-bedroom home can have all bedrooms carpeted in a single day. Furniture needs to be moved out of rooms before installation.
How long does new carpet last?
Quality carpet lasts 10–15 years with proper maintenance. Nylon is the most durable fiber. Polyester is softer and stain-resistant. Wool is luxurious but expensive.
What carpet padding should I choose?
For most residential applications, 7/16 inch rebond foam with 6 lb density is the standard. Thicker, denser padding feels better underfoot and extends carpet life. Avoid padding over 7/16 inch under Berber or loop pile.
Can carpet be installed over existing hardwood?
Yes, though many homeowners choose to preserve hardwood rather than cover it. If doing so, be aware that removing carpet and padding later can leave tack strip holes in the hardwood perimeter.
